据美国雷诺士烟草公司出版的《1987年烟草情报》介绍,1986年美国北卡罗来纳州种植的烤烟品种及其所占面积比例如下:K326,占42%;K399,占11%;Speight G-28,占10%;McNair 944,占9%;Coker 319,占7%;Speight G-70,占4%;K394,占4%;其他品种合占13%(每个品种所占都小于2%)。K326已成为北卡州各烤烟区种植最广的品种。估计在中部烟区已占到54%,在其余三个烟区约占40%。 1987年有4个新品种开始试种,简介如下。
