John Abercrombie is one of today’s most famous jazz guitarists. On the one hand, he maintains the traditional performance style of jazz. On the other hand, he improves and develops the music and uses improvisation to create more free musical space. Biography (BIOGRAFIE) John Abercrombie was born on December 16, 1944 in Port Chester, New York. At the age of fourteen, he started playing the guitar and was determined to grow up to become a professional guitarist. Later, he went to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he also performed at a local club. He first toured with organist John Hammond.
