“烽火戏诸侯,倾国得一笑”,“烽火连三月,家书抵万金”,“狼烟四起”。典故、诗文、词语中的这些“烽火”“狼烟”到底如何解释呢?翻开各种语文工具书,几乎不约而同地解释为:“烽烟”就是“狼烟”,狼烟就是边疆烧狼粪以报警之烟。查《辞海》“狼烟”的解释是“段成式《酉阳杂俎》中有言,狼粪烟直,烽火用之”。《中国古代史演义》中也有一段关于狼烟的描述“那烽燧是用狼粪作燃料,在山顶上筑成高高的圆柱模样
