科技体制改革以来,随着技术市场的日益开拓,冶金部建筑研究总院开展了多种形式的横向联合,取得了较好的技术效果和显著的经济效益。1.科技先导型工程承包。这种形式是以我院为主,联合制造、施工、安装等单位承包工程。从1984年起,先后在全国十七个省、市、自治区承包了三十多项钢结构和轻钢结构建筑、老厂改造、地基加固、新型建材及环保治理等工程近5000万元的施工量。其中比较大而且有一定影响的工程有:冀鲁豫三省及西藏自治区近20万m~2的轻钢结构棉花仓库、粮食仓库工程,上钢三厂转炉煤气回收技术改造工程,南京滁河大桥加固工程,北京西单华威大厦基坑护坡桩工程,北京京城大厦和长富宫饭店压型板螺栓组合楼板工程等。
