The tumors of the basal granule cells (Kulchitsky cells) that occur in the deep crypt of the gastrointestinal mucosa Lieberkühn are called carcinoid. Because of its cytoplasmic particles can react with chromium salt dyes, it is also known as argentiocytoma or intestinal pheochromocytoma. In 1888, Lübarsch reported the first carcinoid, and Oberndoter first used the word “Carcinoid” in 1909 to distinguish it from adenocarcinoma. Although the tumor was considered benign at that time, it is now clearly recognized that this tumor is potentially malignant. Although the first carcinoid was already reported, its endocrine properties were not known until 1940. According to literature statistics, gastrointestinal carcinoids worldwide have been reported
