由深圳市人民政府主办的“第四届深圳国际水墨双年展”作为深圳市每两年一届的文化盛会在深圳画院陈列馆、深圳关山月美术馆和深圳美术馆联合展出,展期从2004年12月13日至2005年1月10日。12月13日上午,参加双年展的嘉宾、艺术家、批评家一行首先在深圳美术馆和深圳画院参观了“水墨都市”和“水墨空间”单元展,是日下午“第四届深圳国际水墨双年展”的开幕仪式在深圳关山月美术馆隆重举行,展览的总策划董小明与严善錞先生主持了开幕仪式,出席开幕式的主要领导及嘉宾有中国美术家协会主席靳尚谊
The Fourth Shenzhen International Ink Biennale, sponsored by the Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government, was held every two years in Shenzhen as a cultural event at the Shenzhen Art Gallery, Shenzhen Guanshanyue Art Museum and Shenzhen Art Museum , Extended from December 13, 2004 to January 10, 2005. On the morning of December 13, guests, artists and critics participating in the Biennale first visited “Ink City” and “Ink Space ” unit exhibition in Shenzhen Art Museum and Shenzhen Art Academy, The opening ceremony of the 4th Shenzhen International Ink Painting Biennale was held ceremoniously at the Guanshanyue Art Museum in Shenzhen and the opening ceremony was presided over by the directors and instructors Dong Xiaoming and Yan Shanyu. The main leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony included the Chinese Artists Association Chairman Jin Shangyi
