在SSC加速器的前束流输运线上探索碳剥离膜的厚度对被剥离后束流电荷态分布的影响,是本实验的目的。因为作为SSC的注入器,我们回旋加速器束流的引出能量较高,因此碳剥离膜的平衡厚度要求大大超过一般用在串列静电加速器头部所使用的碳膜厚度,有人曾用公式x(μg/cm~2)=5.9285+22.386w-1.1292w~2来估计碳膜的平衡厚度与能量之间的关系,误差范围为100%。式中,w以MeV/A为单位。为了研究碳剥离膜的厚度对束流电荷分布的影响我们进行了如下实验。
It is the purpose of this experiment to explore the effect of the thickness of the carbon stripping film on the beam charge state distribution after being stripped at the front beam transport line of the SSC accelerator. Because of the higher energy draw from our cyclotron beam as an SSC injector, the equilibrium thickness of the carbon stripping film requires much more than the carbon film thickness commonly used in the head of tandem electrostatic accelerators. Some have used the formula x ( μg / cm ~ 2) = 5.9285 + 22.386w-1.1292w ~ 2 to estimate the relationship between the equilibrium thickness and the energy of the carbon film with the error range of 100%. In the formula, w is MeV / A. In order to study the effect of the thickness of the carbon release film on the beam charge distribution, we conducted the following experiment.
