中国政府英文官网的建设对加强与其他国家的经济、文化及政治交流,提升中国的国际形象起到了举足轻重的作用。然而由于英译水平有限,英文网站的语言质量往往落后中文版。本文从词汇、句子、语篇三方面来对比中国河北省、中国浙江省官网的“简介”版块与美国犹他州和加州官网“简介”板块,析论中国省级政府官网英语质量。
The construction of the English official website of the Chinese government plays a decisive role in strengthening economic, cultural and political exchanges with other countries and enhancing China’s international image. However, due to the limited level of English translation, the language quality of English websites tends to lag behind the Chinese version. This article compares the “Introduction” section of the official website of Hebei Province of China and Zhejiang Province of China and the “Introduction” section of Utah and California in terms of vocabulary, sentences and texts, and analyzes the English quality of the Chinese provincial government website .
