中国共产党是重视总结和运用历史经验的党。一部党的历史,就是不断在总结历史经验中开拓新道路的历史。1945年,中共六届七中全会通过《关于若干历史问题的决议》,系统地总结了党领导民主革命两次成功两次失败的经验,形成了毛泽东思想,指导中国革命走向胜利。1981年6月,中共十一届六中全会通过《关于建国以来党的若干历史问题的决议》(以下简称《决议》),系统地总结了建国以来党领导革命和建设的经验教训,标志着党在指导思想上完成了拨乱反正的任务,为开创中国特色社会主义道路奠定了思想基础。
