一、引言西方国家ESP教学的理论与实践开始于上个世纪六十年代,如今已硕果累累;我国最早的ESP教学是二十世纪八十年代的科技英语教学,出现了短暂的ESP教学热。现在,ESP教学基本普及,科研也有较大进展,例如,湖北经济学院,宁波大学等高校创立了ESP研究所,北外建立了ESP学院并创办了杂志《中国ESP研究》。但是ESP在人才培养方面的重要性长期被忽视,因而教学效果差,理论研究也比西方国家和某些亚洲国家滞后许多。本文旨在提出我国ESP教学改革的设想,并详细介绍我校的实践情况。
I. INTRODUCTION The theory and practice of ESP teaching in western countries began in the 1960s and has been fruitful since then. The earliest ESP teaching in our country was science and technology English teaching in the 1980s, and a brief ESP teaching fever appeared. Nowadays, ESP teaching has basically popularized and research has made great progress. For example, ESP institutes have been set up in universities such as Hubei Economic University and Ningbo University. ESP Institute was established outside Beijing and the magazine China ESP Research was founded. However, the importance of ESP in personnel training has long been neglected. As a result, teaching effectiveness is poor and theoretical research lags behind western countries and some Asian countries. The purpose of this paper is to put forward the idea of reforming ESP teaching in our country and to introduce the practice of our university in detail.
