学习要有门径,得其门而入,才能事半功倍。那么,初学古籍的人,其门径何在呢?那就在历代书目之中。善于掌握、运用书目,就是找到了学习的门径,就能在知识的迷宫中寻到你所需要的珍珠。清代学者王鸣盛曾说:“目录之学,学中第一紧要事。必从此问途,方能得其门而入,”(见《十七史商榷》卷一)又说:“凡读书,最切要者目录之学。目录明,方可读书;不明,终是乱读。”(见《十七史商榷》卷十七)这两段话极为精炼地概述了目录(即本文所称的书目)对读书人的重要性。可以说,这不仅是王鸣盛对后学者的肺腑之言,亦是对前代有
Learning to have access to the door, in order to do more with less. So what is the path of the beginner’s ancient books? It is in the bibliography of the ages. Good grasp of the use of bibliography, is to find the path to learning, you can find the maze of knowledge you need pearl. Wang Ming-sheng, a scholar of the Qing Dynasty, once said: “The study of catalogs is the first important matter in our study, and as soon as we ask this way, we can get in the door.” (See Volume I, “Whoever reads a book, the list of the most important learners. Contents are clear before they can read the book; unknown, and eventually chaotic.” (See Volume 17 of the Seventeenth History.) These two passages give an extremely refined overview of the contents (That is, the bibliography of this article) to the scholar. It can be said that this is not only the words of Wang Mingsheng to the later scholars, but also to the previous generation
