Intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy is one of the common complications during pregnancy. Little effect on pregnant women, the main threat to the fetus, can cause fetal distress, spontaneous preterm birth, and even unpredictable fetal death and so on. Studies have shown that the occurrence of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy may be related to the liver cells specifically mediated bile secretion of membrane transport proteins (commonly known as hepatocyte transporter) damage. The study of hepatocyte transporter not only has a further understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy, but also may provide new targets and strategies for its treatment.
