9月18日,正在丹麦哥本哈根参加第四届亚欧经济部长会议的外经贸部部长石广生会见了世贸组织总干事素帕猜,双方就新一轮多边贸易谈判等问题坦诚地交换了意见。石广生首先对素帕猜就任世贸组织总干事表示祝贺,他表示中国作为世贸组织新成员,将全力支持素帕猜的工作。在会谈中,石广生阐述了中国对新一轮谈判的原则立场。他说,作为发展中成员和新成员,中国正在积极全面地参加新一轮多边贸易谈判,中国愿意在这一进程中发挥建设性作用。
On September 18, Shi Guangsheng, minister of foreign trade and economic cooperation that is currently attending the fourth Asia-Europe Economic Ministerial Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark, met with Supachai, the WTO Director-General, and both sides frankly exchanged views on such issues as the new round of multilateral trade negotiations. Shi Guangsheng first congratulated Supachai on his appointment as WTO Director-General. He said that as a new member of WTO, China will fully support Supachai. During the talks, Shi Guangsheng elaborated China’s principled position on the new round of negotiations. He said that as a developing member and a new member, China is actively and fully participating in the new round of multilateral trade negotiations and China is willing to play a constructive role in this process.
