Selectivity of Gold from Cyanide Solutions Using Ion Exchange Resins Canada has investigated the selectivity of various ion exchange resins to Au (CN) 2 and other metal cyanide species. The experimental results and the resin structure were compared to determine the factors controlling selectivity. It can be inferred that the hydrophilicity and the ionic strength (number of ionic groups per unit volume) of the polymer matrix play an important role in determining the resin selection properties.
