INTRODUCTION Currently, of the 497,000 production wells in the United States, 461000 (92.8%) wells require artificial recovery in order to allow crude oil to flow from the formation into the storage tank. Now 78.9% of production wells in the United States are produced by the common sucker-rod pumping method. It is estimated there will be 562,000 bottom hole equipment accidents this year, of which 376,000 (67%) are the result of multiple downhole sucker-rod pumps and sucker rods. Oil companies will spend more than $ 500 million this year to repair underground equipment. Nearly half of these ($ 244 million) will be spent on repairs and replacement of materials and services used in fuel pumps and sucker rods. The cost of repairing sucker-rod pumping units in the oil recovery industry is an important factor in the overall economy of the industry. The above estimated costs are not included
