Horse racing enthusiasts may not think of the former racecourse - the most prestigious Grand National in the UK - and today it is also the Gatwick Airport’s train station. It was founded in 1891, its sole purpose is to serve the hobbies of the aristocracy at that time, only to open the venue on the horse racing day. No longer organized during World War II, abandoned until 1958, rebuilt and integrated with an entirely new terminal. The Gatwick race is just one page in history, witnessing the integration of rail and air travel - more specifically, the birth and development history of the airport train station
