He is of humble origin but he is fair and honest and sincere. When Lincoln was 21 years old, he worked as a clerk in a shop opened by friends. One day, an old woman bought textiles and paid an extra 12 cents. Lincoln did not realize that when he found more money when he checked out, he took six miles of walking on the night and returned the overpayment to the old woman. On another occasion, a female customer came to buy tea. Lincoln nicknamed four ounces. For this reason, he ran for a long time to make up for less tea. The nearby residents respected and loved this thin and tall young man and intimately called him “honest Lincoln.”
