史家“实录”理论的精髓和真谛,在于关怀现实、写实求真。而小说既然“记正史之未备”,那么,史家“实录”原则也就合乎逻辑地成为小说所应遵循的创作原则。本文从两个方面论述了“实录”理论对明清小说的积极影响:第一,促使小说关注社会、贴近现实,快捷及时地描摹驳杂多色的社会现实生活;第二,史家“不虚美,不隐恶”,“善恶必书,妍媸毕露”的实录精神,促使小说人物形象由单色调向多色调演进,由定型化、绝对化向动态化、复杂性发展,并最终创造出具有高度个性化的、具有复杂性格结构的艺术典型。
