In 2000, the sales conditions of pesticides in India were unfavorable. The sale of pesticides by its largest pesticide company, Rallis, declined due to overproduction of pesticides, reduced demand, and fierce price competition. But the company increased its sales by shifting its focus from the fierce cotton market to rice, horticulture and big farm crops, with a growth rate of 16%.
