“艺术源自于生活,又高于生活。”新疆及其周围大部分地区,又称西域,是一个多民族文化聚集的地区,有着与中国乃至世界上其他地区所没有的特殊自然地貌和文化审美特征。在这风景广袤,色彩斑斓的地区,生活着一群版画艺术家,他们在长期的创作过程中,吸收了民族文化审美精华,将少数民族艺术风格自然的融入作品之中,创造出了能代表边关风格的版画艺术,并在中国现代版画发展史上书写了重要的一笔。研究新疆地域文化审美对新疆版画风格形成的影响,是研究新疆版画未来传承与发展的重要方向,对新疆其他艺术种类的发展都有着借鉴意义。
