荔枝是华南地区在国内外水果市场上最具竞争优势的拳头产品,近年来发展迅猛,仅广东省的荔枝面积就已超过26万hm~2。但荔枝采后保鲜极为困难,多年来一直是荔枝产区的一个难题,制约着海内外市场的拓展,影响了荔枝生产的进一步发展。1997年7月17日,广州市科委就“荔枝贮运保鲜工程技术开发”研究项目向全国公开招标,引起了很大反响,共有10个单位参加投标,最后由华南农业大学中标。华南农业大学园艺系果蔬采后处理研究室的科研人员经多年研究,开发出从采前栽培技术、病虫防治到采后的清洗、保鲜、包装、预冷、低温贮运等一整套综合贮运保鲜技术。在1998年天气不好、荔枝严重减产的情况下,与广东从化市果菜副食公司合作,在从化市成功地冷藏了110t荔枝。经保鲜处理
