戊己校尉是两汉设于西域的屯田官之一。但何以以“戊己”命名？其职能为何？本文综合前人研究成果，从古代五行学说入手，认为“戊己”在五行中属土，居中央。因而对酉域诸国而言，“戊己”一词被赋了“中央”之意，戊己校尉代表中央行使汉王朝对西域的管理权。在此基础上，本文进一步探讨了戊己校尉的职能。
Wu Ji school captain is located in the Western Han Dynasty, one of the Tuntian officer. But why use “Ego” name? What is its function? Based on the research results of the predecessors, this article starts from the ancient theory of the Five Elements, and holds that the “Five Generations” belongs to the soil and lives in the Central Government in the Five Elements. Therefore, for the countries of the Unitary States, the term “self-sacrifice” has been given the meaning of “central government” and the Lieutenant Governor of Japan has exercised the authority of the Central Government to exercise the power of the Han Dynasty in administering the Western Regions. On this basis, this article further explores the function of Lieutenant Pei.
