In response to the rapid development of ballistic missiles, the U.S. Navy has accelerated its plan to modernize its Aegis cruisers. The TBMD (Defense Against Terminal Flight Ballistic Missile) program is designed to provide U.S. ships with the capability to destroy tactical and strategic ballistic missiles.
