Can paddy fields be cultivated by machines? This is a matter of great concern to the general public and an important scientific issue in the future of China’s agricultural mechanization. In theory or in fact, it is now possible to answer: Rice fields can be cultivated by machines. We know that machine farming is the development direction of agricultural production including rice. The vast majority of rice fields in the Soviet Union and the general people’s democracies are machine-cultivated, and machines are used extensively, from farmland to sowing to harvesting and threshing. There are also some state farms and collective farms that grow rice in China. Tractors and other agricultural machines have long been used. “Then,” someone must ask. “The net in the paddy field is water, and the soil is rotten and sinking. When people go down, they have to sink deeper and deeper. The machine is stupid and heavy. After it goes down, it will not sink deeply into the earth. ?”
