France is the literary power with the highest number of Nobel Prize winners, and Jewish writers have exceeded one-tenth of the total number of winning writers. As a French Jewish writer, Modiano won the award with extraordinary significance. Like Leclazio, Modiano, drawing on the tradition of modern novels, has taken the approach of modernist literature and created a series of new novels that combine realism with modernism. During the course of half a century of creation, he not only used the memory of memories to reproduce the reality of World War II, but also kept innovating on the basis of maintaining the artistic features to form his own unique style. Modiano’s award-winning also inspired us: literature can not be divorced from social reality, no matter what artistic means must be concerned about the fate of mankind.
