水杉（Metaseguoia glyptostroboides Hu et Cheng）是我国古老而特有的珍贵树种,被称之为“活化石”。1941年在湖北西部利川县发现后,自1947年起陆续引种各地,南京是我国引种最早的地区。现在江苏以及南京地区在四十年代以及在五十年代所栽植的水杉已陆续有少量的开花结实,但由于雄花开得很少和开花的不稳定,因而水杉结实数量极为有限。当前如何促进水杉提早开花结实,加速水杉的繁殖,这是水杉科研工作中值得研究的课题。1976年和1977年我所对水杉开花结实习性作了些调查和观察,并对促进雄花序的形成做了一些尝试,现将结果整理如下。
Metasequoia glyptostroboides (Hu et Cheng) is an ancient and unique precious species in our country, which is called “living fossil”. After the discovery in Lichuan County in western Hubei in 1941, it has been introduced all over the country since 1947. Nanjing was the earliest introduced region in China. Metasequoia now planted in Jiangsu Province and Nanjing Region in the 1940s and 1950s has gradually begun to flowering and fruited in small quantities. However, the amount of Metasequoia firming is very limited due to the small population of male flowers and the instability of flowering. How to promote early flowering and fruiting of Metasequoia to speed up the propagation of Metasequoia, which is worth researching Metasequoia research project. In 1976 and 1977, we carried out some surveys and observations on the flowering and fruiting habits of Metasequoia, and made some attempts to promote the formation of male inflorescences. The results are summarized as follows.
