Objective To understand the intake and main sources of dietary anthocyanins in the elderly in Shenyang and Xiamen and to analyze the differences between North and South and to provide a scientific basis for dietary health guidance for the elderly and to explore whether the intake of anthocyanins is consistent with the northern Cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease related to laying the foundation. Methods A total of 100 elderly volunteers aged 60 and above from 100 in Shenyang and Xiamen aged 60 years were enrolled in the study. The results of the survey were analyzed by SPSS 16.0. Results The intake of dietary anthocyanins in spring in 2000, 2005 and 2012 in Shenyang was significantly different (F = 12.65, P <0.01) The difference was statistically significant in 2012 (P <0.05); in 2005 and 2012, the difference was not statistically significant. There was a significant difference in intake between spring and autumn in 2005 (t = 3.842, P <0.05). The intake of dietary anthocyanin in elderly people in Xiamen in spring and autumn in 2012 was (38.3 ± 6.5) and (38.7 ± 6.4) mg / d, respectively, with no significant difference (t = 0.362, P> 0.05) In the spring of 2012, there was a significant difference in dietary anthocyanin intake between Xiamen and Shenyang (t = 37.178, P <0.01). Conclusion The intake of dietary anthocyanins in our country has some differences in the north and south regions. The north is much lower than the south, but there is obvious seasonal in the north and little seasonal difference in the south.
