法国电信是全球领先的全业务电信运营商,用户规模居欧洲第二,并正在以持续的收入增长、不断优化的收入结构、良好的财务状况成为电信全业务运营的成功典范。曾经的法国电信也面临着由于竞争带来的净利润下滑、核心业务萎缩等问题。从2003年开始,法国电信开始了一系列目标明确的收购行动,通过收购以及与收购业务相关的融合服务增长寻求新的发展机会。2003~2005年,法国电信开始逐步全面买断Orange(从李嘉诚手中收购其85%的股份,顺利进入英国移动市场)、Wanadoo(原主要经营互联网业务,法国电信收购其在Wanadoo公司尚未拥有的29.4%股权,成为全资公司)、Equant(原是美国一家向航空公司提供世界各地机场最新信息的数据通信公司,法国电信收购其54%的股份)等旗下各个子公司的股权。一系列的收购行为,为法国电信的全业务运营做好了业务与市场准备。
As the world’s leading full service telecom operator, France Telecom is the second largest subscriber base in Europe and is in the midst of a successful model of telecom full business operation with sustained revenue growth, continuous optimization of revenue structure and sound financial position. Once France Telecom also faces the problem of declining net profit due to competition and shrinking of core business. Beginning in 2003, France Telecom started a series of well-targeted acquisitions to seek new growth opportunities through acquisitions and the growth of converged services associated with acquiring businesses. From 2003 to 2005, France Telecom started to gradually buy Orange off (acquiring 85% of its shares from Li Ka Shing and smoothly entering the UK mobile market). Wanadoo (formerly mainly engaged in Internet business and France Telecom acquired 29.4 % Stake in the company, a wholly-owned company), Equant (formerly a U.S. data communications company that provides airlines with up-to-date information on airports around the world, and France Telecom to acquire 54% of its shares). A series of acquisitions, doing business and market preparation for France Telecom’s full-service operations.
