为什么约翰·福尔斯反复看见幻象?他又怎样通过探究幻象创作出经典之作《法国中尉的女人》?萨拉到底是谁?本文结合福尔斯的手稿、日记、传记和心理分析研究后认为:萨拉幻象是福尔斯多种情结与理念的外化,《法国中尉的女人》像雄心勃勃的存在主义哲学家的春梦。它融通了福尔斯的潜意识层面的天女情结、性幻想、局外人情结、恋母情结、创作心理自我分析、意识层面的立言留名的坚定意志、运用私人意象的创作策略、精微的审美诉求、遮遮掩掩的三角恋情、在类似主题上的反复深挖等。萨拉幻象是作者长期积累、长期练习、长期臆想、无意识发酵、内生性成长之后的厚积薄发。
