隐喻是指用人们熟悉的事物来解释不熟悉的事物,它与人类的生活息息相关。随着对隐喻研究的发展,人们渐渐认识到隐喻既是一种重要的修辞手法,又是一种重要的认知手段。然而由于文化、地域等因素的影响,英汉隐喻在翻译过程中的关系可分为对等关系和非对等关系。根据英汉隐喻的对应关系,从修辞效果保留的角度分析隐喻的翻译并提出相应的策略,不仅能够更好地实现跨文化交流,而且为相关的隐喻翻译研究提供更多的依据。
Metaphor refers to the familiar things to explain the unfamiliar things, it is closely related to human life. With the development of metaphor research, people gradually come to realize that metaphor is not only an important rhetorical device, but also an important means of cognition. However, due to the influence of culture, geography and other factors, the relationship between English and Chinese metaphors in the process of translation can be divided into the relationship of reciprocity and non-equivalence. According to the correspondence between English and Chinese metaphors, analyzing the translation of metaphor from the perspective of rhetorical effect retention and putting forward corresponding strategies not only can better achieve intercultural communication, but also provide more basis for related metaphor translation studies.
