In August 2016, after more than 20 hours of long-distance travel, photographers, journalists and I, a group of 3 people, finally arrived in Kinshasa, capital of the DRC. Despite the great amount of homework done in the early days, we arrived at the Democratic Republic of the Congo with no small cultural impact: half of Kinshasa was devastated by slums and almost all restaurants and shops in the city had armed security personnel. We found some Chinese who started factories in the area to chat and learned that they had been robbed in the middle of the night and got a reply after the alarm turned out to be: "I got an alarm, but now you are too dangerous, please Hold on, wait for the bandits to leave us!
