“植物人”,医学上称“持续性植物状态”(以下简称PVS),是当今社会备受关注的特殊群体。关爱PVS病人不仅仅是医护问题,也涉及到社会福利、社会保障和社会伦理问题。 “持续植物状态”是人体受到某种严重伤害后,引起大脑皮质和相关部位细胞难以逆转的损伤,处于失去记忆,没有思维意识,没有情感交流,没有语言对话的一种状态。PVS病人有以下特点:1.认知功能丧失,无意识活动,不能执行指令,处于“视而不见、听而不闻、熟视无睹”的境地。2.血压、脉搏、呼吸、体温可以平稳,可有正常的咳嗽、吞咽反射,有消化、吸收、排便、出汗等功能。3.像正常人一样,有睡眠-醒觉的周期活动,该睡时睡该醒时醒。4.不能理解和表达语言,没有喜怒哀乐,整天傻乎乎
