额尔古纳左旗地处大兴安岭腹地,总土地面积19,804平方公里,森林覆盖率60％,是国家木材生产的重要基地之一。全旗16万多人口,有7个镇,1个乡。境内有5个国营林业企业局,每年向国家提供木材120多万立方米。做好护林防火工作,促进林业生产的发展,是我旗各级党政和广大群众的一项重要任务。多年来,我旗认真贯彻执行“预防为主,积极消灭”的护林防火方针,取得了较好的成绩。1971年以来,年平均受害森林面积为0.25‰,1983、1984年实现了无森林火灾,受到林业部、自治区人民政府和呼盟公署的奖励。我们在护林防火中主要做了以下几方面的工作:
Located in the hinterland of Daxinganling, Erguna Zuoqi covers a total land area of 19,804 square kilometers with a forest coverage of 60%.
