Economic Powers Balancing US President Barack Obama’s visit to Asia for the week ended with a three-day compact schedule in China setting a constructive tone for the future. He welcomed China as a brand new force in the global economy and dismissed the statement that the so-called rise of China should be regarded as a sign of the decline of the United States. Chinese officials expressed concern about the weakening dollar but promised to join hands with the United States in safeguarding the stability of the global system.
