对于中华民族而言,21世纪将是决定命运的世纪。如果中国能在21世纪中叶达到世界中等发达国家水平,在21世纪末达到世界发达国家水平,中华民族就能重新站在人类文明前列,完成民族复兴的世纪伟业。中国科学院中国现代化研究中心、北京同响现代化战略研究中心、北京大学世界现代化进程研究中心、北京大学出版社和科学时报社等5家单位于2003年2月12日在北京中关村联合举办“现代化百年(1950～2050)年回顾与展望学术讨论会”暨《中国现代化报告2003》专家座谈会。专家们的精彩发言使人受益良多。
For the Chinese nation, the 21st century will determine the fate of the century. If China can reach the level of the medium-sized developed countries in the world by the middle of the 21st century and reach the level of the developed countries in the world by the end of the 21st century, the Chinese nation will once again be able to stand at the forefront of human civilization and accomplish the great cause of rejuvenating the Chinese nation. China Modernization Research Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Tong Xiang Modernization Strategy Research Center, Peking University World Modernization Research Center, Peking University Press and Science Times, etc. On February 12, 2003, Zhongguancun jointly organized “Modernization Centennial (1950 ~ 2050) Review and Outlook Symposium ”and“ China Modernization Report 2003 ”Expert Symposium. Experts wonderful speech makes people benefit greatly.
