当代中国艺术领域中存在的某些中国艺术家制造的作品,其形式和内涵毫无民族文化基础,反而尽力模仿西方现当代艺术的形式,这一现象说明了西方中心论的价值观在当代的国内艺术生存和艺术创作中不仅是一种外在的压力,而且也逐渐先天性地形成于中国艺术家的内心之中。摆脱现代性的崇拜,利用民族自身的文化和传统来表达当下的生活和自由的意识才是具有普世性的当代艺术的本质,中国艺术家需要完成这一历史的转变,才能被当代艺术史所承认与书写。
