在抗战时期的福建临时省会永安,一大批进步文化人士在抗日民族统一战线的号召下,团结奋战,用鲜血和生命谱写了一段壮丽的抗战文化篇章,并声震东南,成为与重庆、桂林齐名的国统区三大抗战文化中心之一。永安抗战进步文化有其独特的内涵和特色,在新的历史条件下,深入研究永安抗战进步文化,对进一步发展三明红色旅游文化,推动永安乃至三明精神文明建设,促进海西对台文化交流与合作,都具有重要的现实和长远意义。
