In the early 1990s, Russia’s political turmoil had a tremendous impact on all aspects of its society, and management education was no exception. The dissolution of the former Soviet Union and the abandonment of the socialist economic system in 1991 marked the beginning of the transformation of the Russian economy to a market economy, making it necessary for a massive reeducation plan for thousands of managers. There were many management and education programs in Russia during the former Soviet era. Most of the operators participated in these programs, but these were often lacking in real content and had little impact on the Russian economy. Since 1991, a large number of new business schools and western management education have joined in,
