在美国自助式加油站成为加油站标准模式之前,加油站工作人员在给客户加油的时候,通常都要主动地询问车主要不要打开发动机舱盖检查一下。他们首先会给客户的车辆清洗挡风玻璃、检查轮胎气压,然后再检查发动机油及其它油液的液面高度。通过这些检查,工作人员会发现汽车可能出现的一些机械故障隐患,以避免日后客户不得不把车停在路边,等待紧急救援的情况发生。
Before the American self-service gas station became the standard mode of the gas station, the gas station staff often cheerfully asked the car owners not to open the engine compartment cover when cheering the customers. They first clean the windshield of the customer’s vehicle, check the tire pressure, and then check the fluid level of the engine oil and other fluids. Through these inspections, staff will find some possible mechanical problems hidden in the car, in order to avoid future customers have to park the roadside waiting for emergency situations.
