Recently, some domestic and foreign medical scientists have done some research on the world trend of smoking, the relationship between smoking and certain diseases, and many studies on quitting smoking and eliminating smoking habit among adolescents. Some achievements have been made. This article gives a brief overview of the above three aspects. The world trend of smoking tracing the history of human smoking has been more than 500 years, it first started in Central and South America, after World War II smoking throughout the world. In the 1970s, statistics were compiled that the cigarette production in developing countries increased by 50% from 1955 to 1977 and that in developed countries by 40%.
