八十年代以来的中国小说理论研究是从小说美学研究起步的 ,但基本上处于拓荒阶段。而此时的小说创作理论却获得了相当丰硕的成果 ,而相关的论著却大多仍停留于感性经验的层次 ,缺乏深入的理性思考 ,因而没有形成科学而系统的小说理论体系。这种局面的改变是在八十年代中后期 ,此时期以来 ,小说理论的突出特点在于向小说艺术本体回归 ,人们的注意力从小说的外部研究进入内部研究 ,理论话语多元化。
Since the 1980s, the study of the theory of Chinese novels has started with the study of the aesthetics of novels, but it is basically in the pioneering stage. However, the theory of novel creation at this time has obtained quite fruitful results. However, most of the related works still remain at the level of sensory experience, lack of in-depth rational thinking, and thus fail to form a scientific and systematic theory system of novels. This situation has changed since the late 1980s. Since then, the salient feature of the theory of novels has been returning to the subject of art in fiction. People’s attention has gone from internal research to external research in fictions and diversified theoretical discourse.
