超声波的发现和超声技术的发展,一般认为开始于1910年左右,直至第二次世界大战以前,还只限于在海洋中的应用,如侦察敌方潜艇以及海洋探测等用途。至于超声技术应用到工业、农业、国防、医学等各方面,则是在五十年代以后才开始的。目前的应用已越来越广,发展十分迅速,国外有人把超声波、超低温、超高压、超导体等技术统称为极端技术,认为是与电子技术、核子技术相并论的三大新兴技术。
The discovery of ultrasonic waves and the development of ultrasound techniques are generally believed to have started around 1910 and until World War II were limited to applications in the oceans, such as the detection of enemy submarines and marine exploration. As for ultrasonic technology applied to industry, agriculture, national defense, medicine and other aspects, it is only after the fifties began. At present, the applications are getting wider and wider, and the development is very rapid. Some people in other countries refer to the technologies of ultrasound, ultra-low temperature, ultra-high pressure and superconductors as the extreme technologies, which are regarded as the three emerging technologies that are related to the electronic and nuclear technologies.
