ExxonMobil提出改进甲醇甲基化制PX工艺(WO2013052260A2,2013-04-11),以甲醇或甲醚作为烷基化剂,与苯/甲苯在反应器中混合,在PX择形分子筛的作用下反应,获得由PX、未反应的烷基化剂、未反应芳烃(苯/甲苯)、水和氧化剂组成的混合反应产物,将其中的氧化物回流利用。通过改进工艺,可使所产生的氧化物降低99%以上,所得PX产品中的水含量低于1000ppm~3000ppm(w/w,1ppm=10-6)。由于避免使用高成本的氧化剂分离技术和装置(如抽提、吸附、结晶),可使成本得到降低。
