The Central Political School’s School of Journalism, co-organized by the International Propaganda Department of the Propaganda Department of the KMT Central Propaganda Department and the Columbia Institute of Journalism in the United States, was an important part of the U.S. cultural assistance project for China during the war. The college is modeled on the teaching mode of Pulitzer School of Journalism at Columbia University and is an important practice of American journalism education in China. It has fostered a number of outstanding journalists and propaganda talents for China. Due to the conflicts of interests and positions held by the Chinese and U.S. Governments and the irreconcilable conflicts between the American teachers and the Propaganda Department of the KMT on the teaching guidelines and training objectives, the college finally ceased to exist.
