音乐剧是集话剧的戏剧精神、电影的梦幻效果、音乐舞蹈的动人力量于一身,这种独特而华美的艺术形式不同于传统意义上的戏剧、芭蕾舞、音乐会,它既不是配乐的戏剧,也不是有情景、带表演的音乐会和舞剧,它是把独唱、重唱、合唱、灯光、设计、乐队、动作和舞蹈等有机地结合起来的一门全新的艺术形式。回顾音乐剧的起源、流派及其在我国的发展历程与现状,就会看到中国音乐剧的振兴所应遵循的基本原则及路径。
