AIM: To provide a basis for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) characterization of polypeptide compounds. METHODS: The 1 H, 13 C NMR and 2D NMR spectra were used to characterize Thymopentin. By using infrared(IR), ultraviolet(UV), mass spectrometry(MS) techniques, along with 1 H-1 H correlation spectrometry (COSY) and distorsionless enhancement by polarization transfer (DEPT), the proton and carbon-13 spectra were assigned completely. RESULTS: The Thymopentin was characterized based on the methods described above. CONCLUSION: The target molecule is confirmed and the structure is identified.
