乡村教育运动兴起于上世纪20年代,活跃人物有晏阳初、陶行知、梁漱溟等,旨在通过教育农民,改善乡村生活习俗,促进乡村建设。南京国民政府成立后,厉行义务教育,乡村教育逐渐融入国民教育规划,不再是以民间力量为主的社会运动了。解放前,我读了4年简易乡村师范,接着当了两年多乡村小学教师,亲身经历了民国晚期四川内江县的乡村教育。那几年战争频仍,
The rural education movement emerged in the 1920s. The active figures include Yan Yangchu, Tao Xingzhi and Liang Shuming, etc. These aims to improve rural living habits and rural construction by educating peasants. After the establishment of the Nanjing National Government, compulsory education was practiced and rural education gradually integrated into the planning of national education. It was no longer a social movement dominated by the private forces.
