她在设计当时最流行的计算机商用语言COBOL(COmmon Busines Oriented Language)中起了重要的作用。
Grace Murry Hopper was involved in the programming of Harvard’s Mark Ⅰ machine from the beginning of her computer contact, rulling the failure of Howard Aiken’s computer. She was in her 40s in the computer field and programming was her specialty. In a sense, she is one of the first to know how to program, and she has built the high-level programming language in this major area. She played an important role in the design of COBOL (COmmon Busines Oriented Language), the most popular computer language of the time. This language allows users who do not know math to use computers as well. In addition, she is still one of the most attractive and brilliant people in the history of computer development. She is a spokesman and educator in computer field with strong determination and energy. She loves computers and the U.S. Navy as if they are above all else. Her men affectionately called her “Wizards Grace.” Grace was born on December 9, 1906, in New York City. Her grandfather is the United States
