消费社会是以商品相对过剩为特征的社会,延续和发展消费社会需要大量消费它生产出来的商品。于是“资本”利用消费文化,将生产经营者所制造的需要转化为消费者自身的需要,并最终使消费者确信这是自己的需要,引导并刺激大众消费。另一方面,消费文化通过改变消费性质,转变消费观念,控制大众的消费行为,从而维系消费社会的稳定和发展,发挥着意识形态功能。
Consumption society is characterized by the relative surplus of goods in the community, the continuation and development of the consumer society needs a lot of consumption of its production of goods. The “capital” then uses the culture of consumption to translate the needs of the producers and marketers into the needs of the consumers themselves, and ultimately to convince consumers that this is their own need and to guide and stimulate mass consumption. On the other hand, consumer culture plays an important role in the stability and development of consumer society by changing the nature of consumption, changing consumer attitudes and controlling public consumption behavior.
