“Leaves of Grass” is Walt Whitman’s only poetry throughout his life, but also a classic poetry in the history of American poetry. The first edition of Grass Leaves was thin, only 95 pages, including an order and 12 poems, with a Whitman copperplate on the scroll: an ordinary young laborer wearing a flannel open shirt , Wearing a broad-brimmed hat on his head, his mouth short, his right hand on his waist, his left hand in his pocket, standing carelessly (that is, in today’s fashion, Whitman is enough “Cool”) - this image is very representative of his style of this collection of poems: young, energetic, rough, so a little unscrupulous, so confident.
